Sending notices to consumers using MMS
SBT customers can send Model Validation Notices (MVNs) to consumers using Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS). Many customers use vendors—RevSpring, CompuMail, Renkin, and others—to create and send physical MVNs to consumers. Depending on the contract with the vendor, sending these digitally instead of via physical mail may result in cost savings.
Consult your MVN vendor to determine how much they may charge for creating digital MVNs rather than or in addition to physical MVNs. Some may charge a small amount to provide PDFs.
Attaching MVNs
Attach the MVN as any other MMS attachment. For information on using MMS in each area of the SBT platform, refer to the following Knowledge Base articles:
File Formats
MVNs can be sent as JPEG (or JPG), GIF, PNG, or PDF. SBT recommends attaching MVNs as JPEGs or PDFs.
When a consumer receives a message with an MMS attachment, a JPEG will show a preview with the full image. An MVN attached as a PDF will appear with only an attached file image:
Because of the general attachment icon, consumers may possibly regard the PDF as a scam attempt regardless of the accompanying text. An attached JPEG with a visible company logo improves consumer confidence, as they can view the contents of the MVN without clicking to open the file.
SBT customers who prefer to attach the MVN as an image must convert the PDFs they receive from their vendors to JPEGs, or request that the vendor convert the PDFs. SBT does not offer file format conversion.
